Welcome to "A Guide to New York"

I'd rather call this "A poor man's guide to good things in New York City" but it would have made for a lengthier title. From being the equivalent of Sting's "An Englishman in New York" to being able to be a reasonably well equipped "New Yorker" who knows his way around the city and it's sights today, I've had my challenges in this city and this medium is going to be a humble attempt at sharing those. The first day I stepped out to take a "train" to "Downtown" was a nightmare. With time, some prior research and helpful colleagues and friends I've managed to overcome those hurdles , New York fails to intimidate me anymore. I'd like to share my views on various eateries, things to do in the city for free and many other facets of this vibrant and glorious city, the city that has given hope to millions over centuries, the city that has made millionaires out of paupers, the city that continues to celebrate diversity at a scale that has no parallel anywhere else in the wold. Welcome to "A Guide to New York" and do feel free to share your views via comments on this blog.
